Monthly Bible massage of October 2019 “The Greatest “No””

There is a time in our life, when we desperately wanting a thing to be come true. So we pray very hard to God.  When the prayer was answered, we rejoice in acclamation.

However, there is also an opposite situation.  You prayed so hard, but not being answered.  It is devastating.  You would be overwhelmed by the feeling of hopelessness.

Let me introduce a poetry displayed on the wall of a rehabilitation institute in New York.  This poet was apatient in that institute.

I asked God for strength that I might achieve; I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked for health that I might do great things; I was given infirmity that Imight do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy; I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for.  Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.  I am among all men most richly blessed.

If we could accept our own situation as this poetry, it would be the same as receiving everything that is moreprecious than our health and riches.

How could we live like this?  We know it is not easy.  Yet, it is possible.  We need to start from knowing God, whom this poet was asking all those things for.  Now you know that there is such a way to live your life.  Why dont you seek the way by reading the Bible.

The words from the Bible;

But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. (II Corinthians 12:9, NIV)
