Trials are gifts from God Youth Pastor Kenshiro Goto

After the earthquake disaster in Northern Osaka, there was the heavy rain disaster in Western Japan.  What happened to others might happen to me.  These things make us anxious.  We may also face our trial individually.  What and who should we depend on?

Recently, I have read a booklet written by a flute player, Kaori Shion (Wind of Praise published by Every Home for Christ).  And it was encouraging.  Her life was peaceful until early 20s when she faced a series of large stormsof her life.  First, she had separated from her loved one, making her realizedhow unloving person she was.  Next, she lost her financial background.  Her fathers company went bankrupt.  After that, she became ill, making her thinking of dying.  Until then, she had believed that a talent, financial background and health were the bases of securing a peaceful life.  Yet, she lost all of these things.  She became like a ship with no compass.  It is easy to imagine how difficult her life was then.

One day, she met a particular phrase of words.  Do you know the number of hairs you have on your head?  Of course, nobody knows.  Yet, they said there is God who knows the number of your hairs.  And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. (Matt. 10:30, NIV). Before her difficult time of her life, she was full of confidence.  Yet through her trials, she realized how little and how weak she was.  And knowing there is God who knows even the number of her hairs filled her with joy.

Soon after, Ms Shion accepted Christ and became a Christian.  After that, she realized that all those unhappy experiences were really the blessings.  In other words, because of those trials she went through, she met God, and found the unshakable support of God.  She says when now I think of it, everything was OK even it took me long time to overcome.  The trials were gifts from God.  Because of those trials, I found Him.  As long as He is with me, whatever happens in my life, I will beOK.

With Gods grace, she became healthy again.  And now she holds concerts nationally as well as internationally.  She also teaches music, acts as a music producer and releases CDs.

Unforeseen trials will happen to anyone of us.  What do you depend on, and who do you seek for your protection?  The Bible tells us that there is God who created us, and He knows every difficulties and trials we go through.  And He promises to change such unhappy experiences into blessings.  Please find your answer in the Bible.  I promise that you will find what you look for.
